Saint Patrick's Day

::All throughout the land people celebrate as well as they can the life of Saint Patrick. A man belabored with trials, who rose above to come back to Northern Ireland, and drive out Satan.

Scarborough is no exception, and while the antics are nothing like modern day America, the spirit of celebration permeates nevertheless.::

Outside the gates of the Manor energetic music fills the air, and people sing and dance in time with music that almost seems alive. Giric and several of the talented residents of the Manor perform and celebrate with the residents of scarborough. A feast of simple and delicious fare, including a variety of meats, has been set forth for all to take part of.

Giric and his borrowed musicians stand on a small, slightly elevated platform, the area around it set aside for dancing. The formal dances accepted by the church are not evident today, but the more free dances employed by the common people take precedence.

The Templars who patrol the city streets and guard the city walls give this celebration sidelong glances but do not interfere with the commoners, other than to maintain the peace. Indeed some may even partake in celebration to a small degree, though most remain aloof.

Their Lord does not make an appearance.

::On seeing some of the Templar take part, one of Giric's men will make sure the message is sent to Hood abbey that Marius's appearance would be welcome, but his absence would not be looked upon poorly. He then returns to the festivities.::

The Templar politely replies that Hood Abbey is locked down at the moment, due to rising numbers of homeless and beggars essentially besieging the place. He'll deliver the message, he says, but doubts either Marius or any of his followers have the time to spare for celebration.

::Delightfully dressed people with equine features and shimmering baubles about their person can be seen here and there. They play music that is truly captivating, dance in intricate patterns that are hard to follow for most, and seem to be more than capable of drinking copious amounts of alcohol. They invite several people to come to an after party later on. A few leave with a few shabbily dressed inebriated people, and do not return.::

::Giric will smile at their arrival, and play music to compliment theirs. The men of the manor will ensure none of the new arrivals enter the manor proper, but otherwise leave them to their business. Giric's man from earlier, will make sure a sealed letter finds its way into one of their hands, before he fades from memory and view back into the manor (arcane used)::

::The night will wind down, and those who remain are ushered home. With little fanfare the mess is cleared away quickly, and the street is clean once again. Giric and the servants of the manor disappear back into its halls, and silence fills the predawn.::
