Waking a Tremere and Executions

Simon assembles those visiting York for a public event. Upon arrival cainites must pass by a prison cart holding a score of mercenaries speaking in scottish accents. Once inside anyone can see the ruined body of an unrecognized Cainite. The Cainite is dressed in clean clothing, but signs of a small protrusion are still visible beneath the cloth.

Brother Dominic. Please come forward. Your services are required to wake this member of the Durham court.

Dominic steps forward and prepares to perform the ritual.

Dominic laboriously covers the torpored tremere with glyphs and sigils. He lays his fingers over the eyes of the torpored Cainite and begins to recite some arcane expressions.

Ichorst, when he arrives and sees the Durham resident, shows the most expression he ever has publicly. Something between surprise and shock.

"I am.....not sure what is intended tonight....but I will say I will have to politely decline being present. This thing belongs to the Witch, a Cainite hardly removed from our source. My curiosity in her abilities is no match for my sense of self preservation. I bid you all a good evening, and I beg of you to consider very carefully your plans.

Ichorst will then gather his servants and exit the scene.

Dominic completes his chanting, and pulls open the eyelids of the tremere before him.

::The body does not move, though there is still a stake in its heart.::

Addressing the Tremere.

Be at ease.  We mean you no harm.  You have been wrongfully attacked in your own lands by criminals to our laws.  Through my actions and those of my vassals you have been rescued from this plight.  We have now woken you and would like to send you back to your lands.  First, however, I would like to ensure that you are fed, and calm before we remove the wood from your heart.  I do not wish for you to react poorly as these are my lands and we are not the ones who attacked you.

Turning to any of the assembled cainites.

If any of the assembled cainites are capable of reading this fellows emotions, please let me know when he has calmed down for his awakening.

Speaking once more to the Tremere.

We have blood as well for you, should you feel the need to feed.

*wraith watches*

::If no one seems to stare intently at the Tremere and attempt to discern his aura, Giric will step out of the room briefly and return.::

Simon nods to Giric when he returns.

You have a something?

::Giric pauses a moment, giving his attention to the tremere before answering, and then nods waving his hand dismissively::

"Yes Milord, the Tremere is currently calm, although understandably both slightly confused and angry about his situation.  I believe it is safe to remove the stake."

Simon makes a slight gesture and the protrusion in the chest seems to come out under the clothing.

Now then. Do you have immediate needs I can take care of? Blood? Or would you rather we just deal with this and get you back home the sooner?

::The eyes begin to move, and with a few hacking coughs, the Tremere sits up. His face is annoyed, and wary. He has a light, almost musical voice.::

"Blood, please. I am currently not on the verge of my Beast taking me, but I worry that I may have little in the way of restraint otherwise."

::He gets to his feet, slowly, and stands still, waiting, hands crossed in front of him.::

::He, almost hesitantly, drains some blood from each, then, satisfied, turns to Simon.::

"Thank you....I am, Allistar. I am also extremely confused. What is happening, why am I here? To hear the ruffians over there speak, and I had been for some time before they beat me into torpor, I was to be some kind of bargaining tool or some such...
And yet I feel neither bargained with....or as a tool. What are your intentions? Also, who do I have to thank for this decent treatment?"

Simon nods simply.

I am Father Simon Molendinarius, Baron of these lands. I am pleased to make your acquaintance.

In truth, we are all somewhat confused. I wonder at how people come to their decisions at times. We do not have the full details as of yet, but it seems that these men wished to gain my favor for some reason. Perhaps they wished me to aid them, or perhaps they wished to entangle Yorkshire in a scandal. We are still looking into the matter. From what I can tell they believed that attacking you would somehow please me. Given the absurdity of such a though I suspect chicanery was involved. After all, what could I gain from such an action except the reputation of a law breaker and the enmity of my northern neighbors? Besides, sending a squad of untrained thugs to ransack villages and attack a member of Mithras' domain is simply inelegant and I do not enjoy such pointless waste.

These men are little more than someone's catspaw, and they will be held and questioned until I learn the truth of these matters.

When we learned of their actions I sent a group to waylay them and retrieve you for your safe return to Durham. Your Baroness has already offered payment for the trouble this has caused us, and we wish to prepare your trip back to Durham this very night.

::Allistar looks very relieved, and a slight nervous giggle rushes out of him before he can stop it, clearing his throat and composing himself.::

"Oh thank God, I was worried that I was to be devoured and my secrets ripped from me via vile arts of one kind or another. These men, they truly are barbaric, and it is little wonder the Scotts are viewed with such disdain by honest Englishmen. I will give my highest regards to my Lady, and if there is anything I can do before leaving for you, you have but to name it of course. If I myself am unable to perform it, I am sure I can find a member of my.....someone who can."

I cannot think of anything at the moment. Though I also am not familiar with you or your kins skills as I am with others. Perhaps we can speak in private about such things while your envoy is arranged.

Is there a particular route you would prefer? Do you need to send any messages to arrange for someone to meet you at the border?

"I should be able to communicate with my Lady as soon as it is proper, I would not violate your gathering with her mind's presence. As soon as I am a reasonable distance from this University I shall likely be escorted by our own people. An escort of your own to say, a mile outside of the City would be most appreciated."

::He pauses::

"What is to be done with...them?"

::He makes a disgusted gesture towards the Scotts, one of which who makes a lewd gesture to him.::

A mile outside of York is still several dozen miles from the border of my domain.  You will be taken to the border.  There you can make what arrangements you wish.

As I said, these men will be questioned most severely to determine the source of your troubles.  I wish to know what has taken place here and who is responsible.  Once I do I will be able to better determine their fates.

I suggest you make it clear to whomever you make your communications that my borders are firm and I will not be pleased to have them violated while peacefully returning a cainite to his home.

"That will do just fine, I simply meant to remove the bother of having to return me from you sooner rather than later. I am able to begin travel at your convenience."
