Naval Battle

Throughout York and a few other shires word is spreading of Norse raiders, or Spanish pirates or some other unlawful group of sea faring folk harassing the coast.
English vessels set upon them, and were surprised at their ferocity and effectiveness, some claiming they were more than men.
More tragically, the French bastards saw the coming Naval armada, small as it was, as a threat and joined into the fray, adding to the death toll.
The pirates fled, far outnumbered, and the French and English left after their quarry had escaped and the French realized this was no real threat.
But the damage was done...the aggression shown. England will not stand for this!
What happens next?
