House rules will be updated as needed.

Abilities: Abilities are not just for retests, but also may be used to add to your total pool. For example, Physicals of 7 and melee of 4 equals a test pool of 11. However the test pool will drop as abilities are spent on retests as normal.

Dominate: It is possible dominate a vampire of a better gen, however those of a better Gen than the Dominate caster may use "Gen" as a retest, and get this retest for every point they have in Gen. This retest may be done in private with a Story Teller to allow players to keep their Gen secret.

Obfuscate vs. Auspex. When kindred have an Auspex vs Obfuscate challenge, the kindred with the higher level of the discipline automatically wins. If both kindred have the same level of their respective discipline it is determined by a challenge as per normal. Abilities come into play with this challenge only on ties.

Fortitude 5: Aegis has been changed, and works similar to Celerity and Potence, you win all ties when bidding a stamina related trait. You gain an addition physical trait called Fortitude which may be allowed to take you over your gen cap.

Summon: You cannot summon someone into an obvious trap, or to a place they know they will be attacked.

Additional traits do not stack for challenges, for example enchanting voice and natural leader cannot be used at the same time for a presence based challenge.

- Max agg damage that can be done using any power is 5. Per use of the power, multiple uses per scene do stack

- Presence 5 will be as per modern nights aka line of sight.

- Max pooling of backgrounds and such is 10.

- Supernatural allies do not give you access to caerns, the hedge, the underworld etc if you go there you will probably die, not only will the things living there kill you, but kill your ally as well

Starting Jan 1st

Summon: Being Summoned allows you to know who summoned you, where they want you to be summoned. Summoners cannot summon someone into an obvious trap, or to a place they know they will be attacked.

Obtenebration - Arms/Tentacles are limited to the amount of dots you have in your occult skill. Enhancing an arm/tentacle lowers the total amount you can summon for every enhance you do. Players may add potence or fortitude to tentacle but may not have more tentacles with those disciplines than they have dots in those disciplines. Fortitude and Potence may not be used at the same time.

Abombwe - Taking the Skin - This ability only works for 30 days, once done your old "form" returns.

NPCs as PCs

Sometimes the ST staff will ask a player to play an NPC for us. We generally pick this based on people who have had a character removed from the game for one matter or another (PC Death etc) and who we would feel as a good fit to play the specific NPC we want run.

Player NPCs generally start off stronger than PCs and with a goal in mind. They are in play for 1 to 12 months as a plot unfolds and are asked to help with that plot, this will not always be a plot against other players. They are not to be targeted against any other specific player, and are allowed to attack other characters only plot purposes. (We're not out to kill other PC's with an NPC) If an NPC is killed before the completion of plot, the character will not have a Deus ex Machina rebirth. Sometimes plans don't go well.

Players who finish playing them once the plot is done, either through completion or PC intervention, are allowed to make a new character with all the xp they would have gained if they were playing a PC (It is all banked). Normally this is the floor xp, but RP nods, downtime actions, forum play and other XP count towards this. If the plot they were asked to play is seen to completion they may also ignore one restriction in creation.

Normally we do not wish players to know who an NPC is, for that reason PC's will have no knowledge of who is, or isn't an NPC in the game. We ask people who were approached to play an NPC also keep this information to themselves.

As of Feb 15th Summon is returning to its book version. This means that regardless of a trap or possible death, you'll go to where you're being summoned (provided the chop is lost.)

Awareness - As per the modern night rules awareness can tell you if a discipline/power is being used around/against you, this includes summoning, scrying and other long range powers that are being used against the person tossing the chop or within line of sight of said person.

We all know generation is an overpowered stat. In order to encourage players to play higher generations we are making the following changes
-Increase the bennie cost of 7th gens to 24. This bennie cost is not required if the number of 7th gens drops below 5
-10th, 11th, and 12th gens have their trait cap raised to 13, equal to 9ths

-9th gen will receive 5 additional backgrounds or ability points
-10th gen will receive 10 additional backgrounds or ability points
-11th gen will receive 15 additional backgrounds or ability points
-12th gens receive 15 additional backgrounds or ability points and 5 additional freebie points

Additionally  All gens that are below 4 wp with cap of 10 are raised to 10.
