Benefit or Bennie Points Empty Benefit or Bennie Points

Benefit or Bennie points are earned by players and may be used to alter their current of future characters, they belong to the player and not the character so they may be saved and used at the player’s discretion.

Bennie points are earned through RP Nods although there is a 1 per session max this way and must be approved by the ST staff prior to earning it. They can also be earned by going to the annual UB Con game, recruiting new players into the game, or going to authorized pre-approved charity events, these events must be open to everyone and must be approved ahead of time in order to get any of the Bennie points. As we do not want to have a “pay to win” game Bennie points may not be purchased for money, nor can they be purchased with XP.

They may be spent in the following manner (All spends require approval by the ST staff before being spent)

1 BP = A free retest against any NPC, or trade in for 1xp.

3BP = Learn a common discipline up to the advance level at in clan cost, first basic level is free

6BP = Learn an uncommon discipline to the advance level at in clan cost, or a common discipline to the elder level. First basic level is free.

9BP = Learn a rare discipline up to the advance level at in clan cost, or uncommon to the elder level. First basic level is free.

12BP = Ignore freebie costs for clan when creating a new character, may not be used on characters that are already in play. Or learn a rare discipline up to elder level at in clan cost. First basic level is free.

15BP = Ignore freebie cost for gen, or restriction and cost of clan, may not be used on characters that are already in play.

20BP = Ignore freebie cost and restriction for gen, see exception to 7th gen below, may not be used on characters that are already in play.

Note that characters may not go below 7th gen even with the use of Bennie points.

Note just because the discipline is listed below doesn't mean you have access to it even with Bennie points. The ST staff has at any point in time the ability to tell you no on a discipline even with bennie purchases.

Also note that purchasing a discipline that is not in your clan, or learning any of the myriad of blood magics requires a teacher, in the case of Dark Thaum it requires an infernal pact, do not purchase these lightly as showing off your newest discipline can often get you killed by clans who view their powers as theirs only, or see the powers of hell well up inside you.

It is up to the player to decide how he learned these new disciplines, and require ST approval. Also players may only purchase one discipline of the uncommon or rare level per character with bennie points, common disciplines may be purchased as often as the player wishes, also, Faith and Fire rules state that Celerity, Fortitude and Potence may be purchased without a mentor at out of clan cost, the same holds true that they may be purchased without bennie points at out of clan costs.

Common Disciplines: Animalism, Auspex, Celerity, Dominate, Fortitude, Obfuscate, Potence, Presence

Uncommon Disciplines: Dementation, Obtenebration, Protean, Quietus, Serpentis, Vicissitude, Necromancy, Thaumaturgy, Mortis, Dark Thaumaturgy, Chimestry

Rare Disciplines: Abombwe, Daimonion, Mytherceria, Ogham, Valeren, Abyss Mysticism, Koldunic Sorcery, Melpominee, Visceratika

Disciplines not allowed in play by PCs (and most NPCs, True Brujah do exist as do the Children of Osiris, they are just very rare and won't be used in play except in plot) : Bardo, Flight, Spiritus, Temporis, Kai, Kineticism, Nihilistics, Rift, Maleficia, Striga, Deimos

Change to Bennies

Bennies: You can earn as much as you want, however there is a cap of 24 that can be spent on a single PC during a calendar year. (Multiple PCs may have 24 per PC)

-Up to 24 additional bennies can be spent on npcs you control such as retainers, supernatural allies, or the like to give them access to special things. These bennies cannot be directly traded in for XP for those NPCs.
