Reynard's Third Salon

The salon is decorated in harvest colors. The furniture is Hungarian in style, and the walls are decorated with tapestries and paintings.

The room is filled with music, though no musicians can be seen. It would seem that they are stationed in a different room, closed off from the salon itself, for the privacy of the attendees. The music is also distinctively Hungarian.

A salon attendant is here to greet any Cainites who arrive.

Reynard has not yet arrived.

OOC: A sampling of what the music might have sounded like

*Mors will arrive, dressed in black wrappings to mostly hide his undead flesh. He will look around as if searching for someone, then sigh, and turn to the attendant.*

The attendant greets Mors. "Welcome, Master Mors. The Chamberlain should be along presently. He has instructed me to ask if you would be so kind as to stay away from the western wall of the room, during your stay here. Is there anything I can assist you with until he arrives?"

"I am looking for Mathias, do you know if he will be in attendance this evening?"

"I do not know. He has not sent advance notice of his intent to attend the Salon, but neither have most of the attendees for the past several gatherings, so I would not take that as evidence one way or the other."

*Mors grumbles*

"Very well, perhaps someone will know how to reach him. I will await your master then."

*Mors turns away and takes a nearby seat, closes his eyes and remains still.*

Morcant arrives, checking a sword and knife (of all things) with a servant at the door along with a damp cloak.

The attendant greets Morcant. "Welcome, Count. The Chamberlain should be along presently. Is there anything I can assist you with until he arrives?"

"It is appreciated." Morcant holds up his hand. "But not needed. I hope the evening finds you well. All of you."

Reynard enters the salon with a flourish. The attendant hands him a note, which he glances at, shakes his head, then tears up, and hands the pieces back to the attendant.

"Good evening, honored guests!"

"Good evening, I am afraid my patience was almost worn through waiting for you Reynard. A few moments more and I may have begun increasing the number of objects in this room. Glad that I did not.

I am here to contact Mathias, or to find someone who knows how to contact him. Can you help in this?"

"I am so sorry to have kept you waiting. I have had no indication that Matthias was planning to attend my salon, but I have some resources I can marshal to reach out to him, forthwith, if you would like. Might I ask what business you have with him? Or will he know why you are seeking to speak with him?"

"He apparently left something in York, and I would like to return it to him and speak to him on the matter. Given his predilections, leaving things behind for others to find may raise more questions than our kind desire. The specific object in question is not of a nature suitable for discussion in such pleasant environs."

"I will have to excuse myself to get in touch with those who can reach out to Matthias.  I will be back momentarily.  In the mean time, if you get bored, instead of destroying any furniture, you can discuss your views of the afterlife with Morcant, who I'm told takes a keen interest in death."

Reynard quickly exits through a rear door to the room.

Mors watches Reynard leave with that abrupt pause as though he was about to respond. As the door closes he turns to Morcant.

"Well so much for conversation, Reynard really seems to be in the mood to get things done tonight. My apologies if you were seeking conversation with him, I had no intention of asking him to do any favors for me tonight. How do you fare tonight?"

::Vala wanders in late seeming to enjoy the music and looks carefully around the entry room and speaks to attendant::

Hello, you look like a fine upstanding gentlemen. I was drawn in by the lovely music. Can you point me towards, whomever I need to be pointed towards?

::feels the texture of one of the tapestries on the wall while she awaits a response::

The Salon Attendant approaches Vala, looks through some notes he has, but seems unable to find anything useful.

"Madam you must forgive me. Are you a Cainite of Yorkshire? Master Reynard has apprised me of many of the Cainites I might expect so that I could welcome them, but I don't seem to have any information about you. Might I have your name?"

Of course. I am Lady Vala. ::does a curtsey, poorly:: I have returned from trading. When I was here before I had spoken to Valance of my family and back then some Lady was in charge. I have popped in and out since, but I've mostly been away.

Ok, I'll tell you a secret.

::winks at the attendant and pauses::

I am not really a Lady, but the name is still Vala and still am fabulous.

"Thank you, M'lady. Master Reynard has just gone out briefly to take care of some business. He should be back momentarily. Until he returns, please feel free to converse with the other guests and enjoy the music. If I can be of any assistance, do not hesitate to let me know."

Reynard re-enters the room, with dramatic flourish.

The attendant gestures towards Vala, and Reynard approaches.

"Hello, who do we have here? Mademoiselle?"

::Vala smiles and looks to to the person who just entered::

Why my name is Vala, it's a great name if I say so myself.
