Question on Bennies Empty Question on Bennies

I was just looking for a clarification of a ruleing. If you use for example 9 bennies to learn an uncommon diciplen. It says to elder level. Can you learn that elder power even if your gen would not allow it normally. does that mean you cant do that? or do bennies supersede generation?

Going out on a limb here, but pretty sure you can't learn anything your generation wouldn't allow. It likely provides access to a mentor who can teach you up to elders, but if you can't learn it then you can't.

Now if you diablerize said mentor....mmm tasty
